Tincture Dropper Bottles FAQ

What Is A Tincture Bottle?

A tincture bottle is a small glass bottle with a distinct shape known as a Boston Round Dropper Bottle. They’re typically made from amber, green, or cobalt blue glass as those colors offer better UV protection than clear glass, which is crucial since UV rays can degrade the cannabinoids in tinctures. They’re also almost always equipped with a dropper cap, which is a cap that has a glass pipette tube attached to the bottom for easing tincture dosing.

Where To Buy Tincture Bottles

We have a vast and diverse collection of glass dropper bottles right here at Marijuana Packaging! We carry 5, 10, 15, 30, and 60 mL sizes in a range of colors and opacities, including the well-known light blocking color, amber. Some come with dropper caps included and we also sell dropper caps separately for ultimate customization.

How To Fill Tincture Bottles

One of the best ways to accurately fill tincture bottles is by using syringes, which allow precise measurement and accuracy when filling.

How To Open Tincture Bottle Caps

All of our tincture bottle caps are “Push Down & Turn” child resistant caps. To open them, grasp around the ribbed sides of the cap, push the cap into the bottle, and then twist in a counterclockwise direction. The cap should come off and then can be screwed back on time and again.

Dropper VS Pipette

Droppers and pipettes are interwoven in their roles, although they differ slightly. Pipettes are typically made from plastic and can be anywhere from a few to several inches long. They’re commonly used in laboratories and in gardening to transport and dispense small, precise amounts of liquid-like chemicals and fertilizers. A dropper is typically much smaller (an inch to maybe three inches), generally made from glass, and is attached to a rubber and plastic cap. It’s meant to be part of a dropper bottle for tinctures, medications, eye drops, etc.
