Four Chicago dispensaries were expected to gain legal permits to operate in the state of the Illinois this past Friday; however, only three of them were in fact granted. Wicker Park Dispensary at 1368 N. Milwaukee Ave., West Loop Dispensary at 955 W. Lake St., and Avondale Dispensary at 3541 N Elston Ave, were the three dispensaries that were approved in a unanimous decision by the Department of Planning and Development.
Chairman Jonathan Swain stated that he wants to limit medical marijuana "in an extreme degree", and has ordered Marbis of Chicago at 4568 S. Archer Ave. in Archer Heights (the fourth dispensary to be approved) to resume their hearing for the legalized permit process until next month. Officials are taking all steps necessary to ensure that patients and medical employees have the utmost in security precautions and surveillance.
