Willie's Reserve: Willie Nelson Plans To Open His Own Brand of Marijuana Dispensaries - Gamut Packaging
willie-nelson From weed inspired tunes such as "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die" to "My Medicine", Willie Nelson has solidified himself not only as a legendary country music singer, but also, a premier staple and Godfather of marijuana advocacy. Now with brands such as Marley Natural, that are emerging, featuring the late Bob Marley as their stand out icon, Willie Nelson wants his share of the pot pie, and who better than a man who admittedly smoked a joint on the roof of the White House. According to news sources, the 81 year old musician plans on rolling out his own line of marijuana businesses in 2016. Known as "Willie's Reserve", the new brand will reflect Nelson's advocacy for marijuana use, both from an industrial and recreational standpoint. Stores will feature marijuana strains produced by Nelson and other hand-picked growers who pass his quality standards for dank buds. willies-reserve "Let's just call it the anti-Walmart model," said company spokesman Michael Bowman to the Daily Beast. "Personally, internally, that's what we call it. A certain standard by which growers have to account for carbon and such, in a way that empowers small growers who are doing the same thing." Bowman claims that Willie's Reserve was developed by Nelson's family whose main focus is on the environment and societal issues, as well as putting an end to the war on the drugs. From the interview, Bowman projected Willie's dispensaries to begin opening in 2016 in legalized states such as Colorado, Alaska, Washington, and other states where marijuana has been legalized. Although no immediate comments have been made by Nelson regarding the formulation of this new brand, in an interview from AARP last year, Nelson gave his opinion on marijuana and how it would inevitably be made legal in the states. "I'll probably take a couple of hits before or after the show tonight," said Nelson. "It relaxes me, and the medicinal form of pot can cure everything from stress to cancer. It's a shame that it was thrown in with the other hard drugs. Now that the legalization has proven successful in Colorado and in Washington state, it's just a matter of time before it's legal everywhere. There's a lot of money to be made from it, number one." On top of Willie's best buds, his dispensaries will also carry smoking products such as vape pens and glass pipes, allowing his customers to have full access to the one stop shop experience.
